CAA Approval of Training Organizations is designed to equip Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) personnel with the knowledge and practical competencies required to assess, approve, and continuously monitor Aviation Training Organizations (ATOs) within their State.
The course provides a comprehensive overview of the ATO approval and oversight process. It is based on applicable ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) and national regulations. Participants will learn how to identify training activities requiring CAA approval. In addition, they will evaluate ATO documentation, conduct approval inspections, assess compliance, and issue the appropriate approval documents.
Participants will also gain an understanding of the establishment and responsibilities of an ATO Inspector Office. This includes the processes and practices required to ensure effective and consistent regulatory oversight of approved training organizations.
Through practical, regulatory-based activities, the course develops participants’ ability to apply requirements effectively throughout the ATO approval process. This process ranges from document evaluation and inspection to approval and continued monitoring.
The course is primarily intended for CAA officers responsible for the approval and continuous monitoring of ATOs. However, it also provides valuable knowledge for training organization managers and aviation training professionals who need to understand CAA requirements and the ATO approval process.
