Safety Oversight Inspectors (Airworthiness) course provides comprehensive training in the principles, practices, and regulatory requirements governing aircraft airworthiness, engineering, and maintenance. Moreover, the course focuses on developing the knowledge and practical competencies required to conduct effective airworthiness inspections. As a result, participants learn to evaluate compliance and support the State’s aviation safety oversight responsibilities.
The programme provides participants with a structured understanding of the role of the airworthiness inspector and ICAO airworthiness requirements. It also covers aircraft certification, design and production organisation oversight, maintenance systems, engineering principles, and continuing airworthiness.
Through practical exercises, case studies, technical assessments, document reviews, and inspection scenarios, participants learn how to apply ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs). They also learn to apply applicable national civil aviation regulations to real-world airworthiness oversight activities.
Participants also develop the ability to evaluate aircraft maintenance programmes, assess technical documentation, review engineering approvals, and monitor maintenance organisations. Furthermore, they learn how to identify potential airworthiness risks. The course addresses key areas including aging aircraft, structural integrity, aircraft systems, propulsion, wiring, cabin safety, human factors, and suspect unapproved parts.
By completing this course, Safety Oversight Inspectors (Airworthiness) will be better prepared to perform professional airworthiness inspections, support certification and approval activities, evaluate maintenance systems, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the State’s airworthiness safety oversight system.
