Safety Oversight Inspectors (Flight Operations) will receive comprehensive training in the principles, practices, and regulatory requirements governing the safety oversight of aircraft operations. The course focuses on developing the knowledge and practical competencies required to conduct effective flight operations inspections. In addition, it trains participants to evaluate operator compliance and support the State’s aviation safety oversight responsibilities.
The programme provides participants with a structured understanding of the role of the flight operations inspector and the regulatory framework governing commercial air transport operations. It also covers Air Operator Certification, document evaluation, special operations, and the oversight of foreign operators.
Through practical exercises, case studies, document reviews, inspection scenarios, and regulatory assessment activities, participants learn how to apply ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs). Furthermore, they learn about applicable national civil aviation regulations in real-world oversight situations.
Participants also develop the ability to assess an operator’s organisational structure, operational procedures, manuals, safety management arrangements, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Moreover, the course emphasizes evidence-based oversight, risk assessment, inspection planning, findings management, and corrective action monitoring.
By completing this course, Safety Oversight Inspectors (Flight Operations) will be better prepared to perform professional flight operations inspections.
